Back by popular demand: Build a "Hugel Culture" Garden Bed!
Saturday, May 26th
Easter Egg Farm (2546 Miles Rd., Roberts Creek)
1pm to 4pm: Hugel Culture with Heinz Engelmann
"Hugel Culture" is an ancient form of composting developed in Eastern
Europe. It uses woody wastes such as fallen logs and pruned branches
in order to build soil fertility and improve drainage and moisture
retention. Heinz Engelmann is inviting you to Easter Egg Farm to learn
how to construct a Hugel Culture bed for gardening. This bed is known
to grow larger plants, need far less maintenance and survive the dry
season with ease. Heinz has over 20 years experience in farming and
gardening and can answer your questions. Also take the chance to check
out Easter Egg Farm and all the wonders it holds.
Students should dress for outside in the garden, (gumboots and a
jacket) and please bring your own work gloves.
Class fee is $15; Please pre-register for this event!
