The Great Sunshine Coast Bake-Off!

Roll up your sleeves and preheat your ovens – it’s The 2025 Great Sunshine Coast Bake-Off! Bakers of all skill levels are invited to share their creations for the world to see (and taste)!

Join us for a day of friendly competition, community spirit, and sweet treats, all in support of local food security and building a resilient, sustainable local food system.

Entries are open to ages 13+ with 3 baking categories in Teen and Adult divisions, and will be judged by an panel of professional baker judges, and then by community members in our first-ever People’s Choice Awards! Whether you’re a baker, or just want to come be a tasting judge, this is going to be fun!

Prizes: Bragging rights, Publicity (newspaper & social), $50 gift bag of artisanal local creations and a mountain of gifts and gift cards! Details TBA!

10:30 – 11:00 am Drop off baked entries
11:00 – 12:00 Pro Judging
12:00 – 1:00  People’s Choice Judging (Bakers stay to help slice & serve)
Winners announced: 1:00 pm.

 

ENTRY DETAILS:

Entry Deadline: Noon Nov 28.
Eligibility: open to all bakers 13+. No restrictions!
Size/Amount: 12 (or more) cookies/cupcakes, and at least a 9″ cake/pie.
Label: Name of your baked good & list of ingredients, with your name, phone & email on the back. Allergens are many, so an ingredient list is important. We respect traditional, family or secret recipes – exact recipe not required.

 

THE FINE PRINT:

  1. Must be a resident of the Sunshine Coast.
  2. One entry per category.
  3. Entries must be 100% home-made – no store-bought, commercially-produced baked goods, powdered mixes, add-ons, decorations, icing, pre-made cake toppers, etc.
  4. Entries are to be prepared following all foodsafe regulations, and must not require refrigeration.
  5. Entries must be complete upon drop-off (no finishing/decorating onsite).
  6. Winners will be photographed & announced on social media
